Hyderabad: The much-talked about nominated posts, which have been elusive for the last 15 months, appear to be within the reach of TRS leaders and cadres in a short while from now if one goes by the enough hints dropped by the top brass of the ruling party.

It seems that TRS chief and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is understood to have noticed the growing discontent among the party cadres caused by the inordinate delay in filling up of nominated posts and the sulking by a few leaders over rewarding plum posts to turncoats.

But for the appointments of Manakondur MLA Rasamayi Bala Kishan as chairman of the Telangana Samskritika Sarathi and Pidamarthi Ravi as chairman of the SC Corporation, large number of posts kept vacant by the TRS chief till now.

The hopes of TRS leaders aspiring to nominated posts have risen when the Chief Minister expanded his Cabinet in December 2014.

Although KCR had promised to fill scores of nominated posts, said to be around 4,000, including chairpersons of at least 10 corporations,

which have completed the process of bifurcation between AP and TS, agriculture market committees (AMCs) and temple committees with the party loyalists, who strived hard in the separate statehood movement, it remained a distant dream for the aspirants.

The aspirants’ hopes rekindled again when former PCC president D Srinivas was appointed as the special advisor to the government with Cabinet rank soon after he joined the party in August.

Thereafter, the aspirants hoped that KCR would take up the exercise after his return from the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in China.

It was also reported that the CM had told the ministers, legislators and zilla parishad chairpersons to come up with a list of aspirants who had worked for the party but could not get ticket to contest elections so that they could be nominated to posts.

Besides this, many a legislator, who could not find a place in the Cabinet, too pinned their hopes on chairperson posts of corporations.

In this backdrop, Minister for Major Irrigation T Harish Rao said that CM will look into the appointments of nominated posts soon after the ongoing Assembly session.

“Although the situation appears favourable for the filling of these posts, the process may be held back if the Election Commission announces bypolls for the Warangal Lok Sabha and Narayankhed Assembly seats,” a senior TRS leader told The Hans India on condition of anonymity.
