Party to announce candidate’s name today
Hyderabad: With the return of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to Hyderabad and surveys by different political parties indicating a sure victory for the ruling TRS in the Warangal LS bypoll, lobbying has intensified in the party.
KCR will be holding a meeting with party leaders from Warangal district on Thursday to select the party candidate. Later, the Chief Minister will take a final call on zeroing party candidate. TRS sources claim that candidate’s name would be announced on Thursday.
According to party sources, the name of the noted advocate Gudimalla Ravi Kumar is said to top the list. Ravi Kumar had in the past aspired for Warangal East Assembly seat, but was disappointed as the party admitted Konda Surekha, who represents the constituency. Others in the race are Dayakar an old-timer, Prof Sambaiah of Kakatiya University and E Srinivas.
