The EC stated that KCR's announcement of Kalyanalakshmi scheme being applicable to Backward Classes from the next financial year was made in the context of the election campaign which is against the regulations.
KCR has been further warned by the EC not to repeat the act in future while examining complaints filed by the Opposition parties regarding the issue.
