A two judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad on Monday directed the Telangana State and Andhra Pradesh to work out the modalities and stayed the orders of the governments directing the professors to continue to work in the places where they were working prior to November 26 this year.

The bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Dilip B Bhosale and Justice S V Bhatt was dealing with a batch of writ petitions filed by Dr M Raj Kumar and other professors.

The petitioners questioned the action of the Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University in refusing to hire them on the grounds of nativity. The counsel for the petitioners pointed out that the varsity in either states did not hire them and refused to pay salaries to the existing faculty on the ground of nativity.
