GHMC to clear 7,009 grievances in two days
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is all set to dispose 7,009 long-pending public grievances within two days before ensuing municipal election notification.
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is all set to dispose 7,009 long-pending public grievances within two days before ensuing municipal election notification.
GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy on Monday held a meeting with officials of all 25 departments in the corporation and enquired about the long-pending issues, which were not cleared by the civic body. He also directed them to dispose grievances at the earliest before the GHMC election notification.
As per the official records, the GHMC has received 87,000 grievances from January 2014 till now. Of them, the civic body has received about 43,000 grievances through call centres, from which 40,935 were already cleared and 1,742 are still pending.
It has also received about 800 grievances through weekly Prajavani, which has been conducted every Monday at GHMC head office building, of them 489 grievances were already cleared and about 281 were pending.
The civic body has received about 39,421 grievances through online, of them about 35,069 were cleared and 4, 352 are still pending. About 50 grievances were directly received by the commissioner’s peshi, of them 43 were cleared and the remaining are still pending. The corporation has received about 3,523 grievances through GHMC mobile application, of them, 2,903 have been cleared and about 620 grievances are still pending.
The civic body officials further said that Janardhan Reddy had passed strict orders to officials of all 25 departments regarding the disposal of pending grievances within two days and also instructed them to clear all the issues with immediate effect. However, the GHMC officials claimed that about 40 percent disposed grievances were bogus. They also added that the officials were even capable of clearing all 7,009 grievances in a day.
