Khammam: Inaugurating the ‘Membership Drive’ of AIDWA (All India Democratic Women Association), social activist Dr Y Rama Devi demanded the government appointment of ‘She Teams’ in every mandal.
Following the call given by AIDWA state committee, its representatives launched a one-day membership drive in the 38 division of Khammam on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Rama Devi pointed out that despite special laws for women like Nirbhaya, harassment and discrimination against women in the society was increasing day by day. The government must take necessary steps to prevent crimes against women along with giving proper protection to them, she suggested.
AIDWA district leaders Dr Y Nagamani, 38 division leaders Y Sukanya, P Naga Sulochana, V Kanaka Lakshmi, B Sunitha, B Durga, P Yadamma, Pushpa and Padmavathi were present along with others.
