Hyderabad: Telangana State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday made it clear that there would be amicable seat adjustments between the TDP and the BJP with a goal of sweeping the GHMC elections and share the posts of Mayor and deputy Mayor. Speaking to media persons here, BJPLP leader Dr K Lakshman said they had collected information that the citizens in Greater Hyderabad were favouring the BJP-TDP combine rule in the city.

They would plunge into electioneering with a manifesto agreeable to both the parties, he said. Stating that the two-party combine was ready to face the conspiracies of the ruling party, Dr Lakshman said several Union Ministers along with AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would participate in the election campaigning.

He said they had finalised a plan to hold four public meetings in a day for a week from January 17 to 25 and one Union Minister would address the meetings every day. The BJP leader said they would organise road shows in all the 150 divisions of the corporation on January 28, 29 and 30 in which Chandrababu Naidu and Union Ministers Venkaiah Naidu and Bandaru Dattatreya would participate.

The BJPLP leader also said his party would organise a huge public meeting in Hyderabad on January 12. Referring to criticisms by IT & Panchayat Raj Minister K T Rama Rao against the Prime Minister, Dr Lakshman warned Rama Rao had neither the moral right nor stature to criticise Narendra Modi. He alleged that the IT Minister was attacking Prime Minister Modi at the instance of MIM supremo Asaduddin Owaisi for getting benefitted in the ensuing GHMC elections.

He also alleged that the ruling TRS and the communal MIM party were conspiring to grab the GHMC through back door. He also ridiculed that the TRS ‘car’ was being driven by the MIM leaders since the pink party wrested power in the State. Stating that the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre had sanctioned 60,000 houses for poor in Telangana State, Dr Lakshman slammed the State government for not inviting Narendra Modi for the foundation stone laying programmes.

All the Ministers in the State were only interested in working during elections and by-elections but not in administration. He also demanded an explanation from the TRS government why it did not celebrate Telangana Liberation Day on September 17 as promised earlier.
