Statewide bandh called by Dalit groups

The Dalit groups who are protesting over HCU Dalit student Rohith Vemula's suicide have called for a statewide bandh in Telangana State on Thursday. Demanding the Central government to dismiss Union Ministers Bandaru Dattatreya, Smriti Irani and suspend Vice-Chancellor Appa Rao, the four students who had been suspended along with Rohith Vemula continued the indefinite hunger strike on Thursday.

Meanwhile, many politicians are coming forward to express solidarity with the students. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is said to be arriving in Hyderabad where he will be meeting the agitating students in Hyderabad Central University and enquire with the student leaders about the incidents that have taken place in the University.
