Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu flays Congress for stalling the Parliament sessions

Hyderabad: Congress was creating hurdles to the country’s development by trying to hurt the Narendra Modi government. Though the party was not able to hurt the government, it was succeeding in creating hurdles for the development by stalling the Parliament sessions, said the Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu. He was addressing an election meeting here on Sunday.

"You (Congress) are reduced to 40 seats in the Lok Sabha. Still, you are not allowing the GST and real estate bills to pass and even stalling the efforts to reform the labour laws," he rued. He held the attitude of Congress party has been causing loss to the poor, who could benefit the most from the economic growth.

He satirically said- “the Congress is questioning where are achche din (good days)? I am telling them, there will be no achche din for you, you will only have bad days.” He alleged that Congress party was not ready to accept people’s mandate, which made them the opposition party.

He made light of the party’s criticism on Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and stated their party was proud of its RSS bond. He further claimed the BJP has got a character because of RSS.

The Congress party which had encouraged the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) as part of its vote bank politics has no standing to criticize RSS, he said Venkaiah attacked the MIM chief and local MP Asaduddin Owaisi for his recent remarks on a possible beef ban in the city if his party was not voted into power.

He described the MIM as an anti-development party which doesn’t want the Muslims of the city to develop.
