Medaram/Warangal: The TSRTC has made all arrangements to transport devotees to Sammakka Saralamma Jatara and deployed 4,000 buses for the purpose, informed Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy.

He said the RTC has made contingency plans to operate an additional 2,000 buses if the devotees’ rush exceeds the expected numbers. About 12,000 employees were drafted for special duties during the Jatara to serve the devotees from February 14 to 21.

Speaking to press persons in Hanamkonda on Friday, he said local shuttle services would be operated to transport the devotees coming to Medaram in private vehicles as they were not allowed near the Jatara venue.

The Corporation officials have been making efforts to ensure smooth and hassle free travel to devotees who would be reaching Medaram from different parts of the country. The RTC would operate air-conditioned buses from Hyderabad.

Later in the day, Minister Mahender Reddy visited Medaram village and inspected the arrangements. He appealed to the pilgrims planning to come to Medaram, to travel by RTC buses which would be more convenient.

He inaugurated temporary bus stand set up at the village on a 50 acre plot where 36 ticket counters were set up.
