Warangal: Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao has called upon the TRS party cadre and leaders to make collective efforts to win the ensuing Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) elections. He hoped that the party would easily win the GWMC and Khammam Municipal Corporation elections with thumping majority continuing the party’s winning streak. “National party like BJP which is in power at the Centre has been losing elections but TRS has been winning all the elections it faced,” he noted.

He said the victory of the party in the recent Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections had been possible with the coordinated and joint efforts of the Ministers, MLAs and in-charges. The same kind of coordination should be displayed by the party leaders here for the GWMC elections, he said. A nine-member committee headed by Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari would look into the selection of candidates and the party campaigning.

The committee comprises the MPs, MLAs and MLCs falling under limits of the corporation, he said. There has been a huge completion for the TRS tickets with at least ten persons competing for ticket in each ward of the corporation consisting 58 wards. Those who could not get the ticket should support the nominee selected by the party, he said speaking at the election preparatory meeting in Warangal on Tuesday.

Tarakarama Rao further said that those who could not the ticket need not worry and there were ample avenues to accommodate them in nominated posts. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was keen to fill up the nominated posts before April last week. “If those who failed to get TRS ticket try to enter the contest as rebel their political career would be in trouble,” he warned. Hitting at the TDP, BJP and Congress parties, KT Rama Rao said the parties were not even able to find the right candidates to face the TRS.

The Chief Minister has already announced allocation of funds worth Rs 300 crore in the State budget and the city would witness enormous development like Mysuru near Bengaluru and Pune, he asserted. Reacting on the TRS win in Narayankhed assembly by-election, Rao said, “It proved the trust of the public that the TRS was enjoying among the masses.” He thanked the voters and the Minister T Harish Rao for ensuring victory to the party.

Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari, MLAs D Vinay Bhasker, K Surekha, T Rajaiah, B Shanker Naik, party district president T Ravinder Rao and others were present.
