Campaigning for the Congress candidates at Dhwamsalapuram on Sunday, he said that the TRS was unabashedly misusing the government machinery to threaten or to woo the leaders of the Opposition parties in the elections.
“The TRS has been stooping to new lows with its ministers and legislators resorting to undemocratic ways just to win the elections and thereby to remain in the power for a long time,” Reddy said, pointing out the failures of the government.
The ruling party, which had forgotten all its poll promises made during the 2014 elections, was now trying to lure the people with new promises, he said, accusing the TRS leaders of power-hungry.
He said that by contesting the civic body elections, the YSR Congress is indirectly helping the TRS by dividing the votes of the Congress.
Stating that former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy had always dreamed to see Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Minister, but the party established by his son YS Jaganmohan Reddy was trying to damage the Congress.
The Congress candidate for 13th Division, Mandadapu Nagaratnamma, DCC general secretary Mandadapu Brahma Reddy, Youth Congress state secretary Ramisetty Manohar Naidu and DCC general secretary P Srinivas Reddy were among others present.
