Hyderabad: A two judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice M Satyanarayana Murthy on Tuesday dismissed two contempt cases filed against the General Manager of South Central Railways.

Candidates belonging to the Schedule Castes and Schedule Tribes communities moved the court complaining that an order of the court made in 2015 with regards to promotions and positioning of loco-pilots was not undertaken and executed by the railway.

The petitioners complained that by October 2015, the court order was required to be carried out, but failed to do so. The senior counsel appearing for the Railways pointed out that the exercise was completed within six months from the date of receipt of the order of the High Court as directed by the High Court. The bench speaking through Justice Ramesh Ranganathan accordingly dismissed the case.
