Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao on Friday showered sops on his home segment of Sircilla when a group of leaders from the town met him here.

Speaking on the occasion, KT Rama Rao promised to develop the town into Greater Sircilla by giving it a complete facelift in about one-and-a-half years. He told that efforts would be made to include the town into Centre sponsored AMRUT scheme that would fetch Rs 60 crore for development.

Hundred per cent roads and toilets in three years would be completed, he said. Stating that 1,500 double bedroom houses were allotted to the town, he said that one lakh acres would be irrigated besides supplying safe drinking waters to every household.

He said that he will give back to the town which promoted him as a leader and Minister. The IT Minister said that he would urge Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to announce some financial package for weavers’ community in the town during his next visit to the town.
