Hyderabad: An English medium government primary school would be constructed in the city at an estimated cost of Rs 3 crore by utilising the development funds of Deputy Chief Minister Md Mahmood Ali. The school would be constructed at Block F, Ward 174 (near Masjid-e-Yahyapasha) of Madannapet in the city. These funds were pooled from the financial years 2014-15 and 2015-16.

This primary school would be constructed in an area of 3,400 Square yards, which was allotted after following due diligence by Hyderabad district Collector. While the Hyderabad district Education Officer accorded permission to open the school on March 11, the letter to give necessary sanctions to release first instalment of Rs 49.70 lakhs from the MLC funds were also given to district Collector the same day.

Speaking on the occasion Deputy Chief Minister said, "Low literacy, especially amongst the Muslim community and other minority communities, has been one of the causes for their backwardness. Development can be achieved only through education. The agenda in constructing this English medium school is to see that the coming generations are not deprived of quality education.

Focus would be on improving scientific temperament among the children, though it would be English medium school, all necessary avenues would be created to ensure that children learn and excel in their mother tongue also, be it Urdu or Telugu. All efforts are in place to see that the schools start from the academic year 2017-18."
