Hyderabad: Bachao Telangana Mission (BTM) leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Tuesday alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao failed to get his priorities right in taking up irrigation projects.

Addressing a press conference here, he said that 32 projects could be completed with just Rs 10,000 crore, but these have been neglected by government. He said that government had allocated zero funds for medium irrigation.

“He will not listen to anybody. He said Mahabubnagar projects can be completed with Rs 800 crore, but his minister says Rs 1,900 crore is needed. Complete the projects immediately, GDP will increase with the increase in revenues if water comes to the fields,” said Janardhan Reddy.

He criticised the government for failing to provide adequate funds for two lakh houses and questioned the status on the KG-to-PG scheme. He alleged that the TRS government had completely failed in performing its duties during the last two years.

He said that KCR had accused Andhra people of looting, but now he has given contracts to Andhra people. He said that water could be given to 25 lakh acre with just Rs 10,000 crore to Rs 12,000 crore by completing 33 projects.
