Hyderabad: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) described the 2016-17 budget as ‘un-realistic’ and ‘not feasible’ and accused the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of introducing a new scheme called ‘Operation Akarsh’ by allocating Rs 4,600 crore special fund to it.

Speaking to media, CPM state secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram alleged that these funds are in Chief Minister's pocket and are going to be used to buy leaders of other parties undemocratically. He raised a strong objection to the minimal allotment of funds to SC, ST and minorities and not making providing any info on the funds that are allocated to the double bedroom houses to the poor.

Tammineni said the State government has about 44 GOs pertaining to the wage hike, but has not implemented until now. Even the wages of municipal workers were not increased and nothing was included in the budget heads, he said. The CPM leader demanded the government to bring a law that ensures the full and compulsory utilisation of funds of SC and ST sub-plan.
