The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is gearing up to meet its Rs 1,100-crore target in the last one week.  Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy on Sunday directed the GHMC officials to concentrate on property tax collection and postpone all other activities till first week of April.

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is gearing up to meet its Rs 1,100-crore target in the last one week. Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy on Sunday directed the GHMC officials to concentrate on property tax collection and postpone all other activities till first week of April.

The GHMC Commissioner has also asked the mayor, his deputy and all public representatives including MPs, MLAs and Ministers not force the civic body officials to participate in inaugurations and padayatras till April. He directed the officials to increase warrants and pursue the pending cheque bounce and court cases. The Commissioner also asked the AMOHs to pursue list of approved trade licenses.

In order to improve the collections, the commissioner instructed the officials to increase the number of property tax collections. Meanwhile, 178 property tax grievances solved out of total 2,612 registered in ‘property tax parishkaram’ program held till
Sunday.
