Cops intensify probe into OU death
The police have speeded up investigation into the death of a worker on the Osmania University campus on Wednesday which triggered violent incidents, including attacks on police personnel by students. East Zone DCP Dr A Ravinder on Thursday verified the CC camera footages recovered from the campus and also from the nearby junctions.
Hyderabad: The police have speeded up investigation into the death of a worker on the Osmania University campus on Wednesday which triggered violent incidents, including attacks on police personnel by students. East Zone DCP Dr A Ravinder on Thursday verified the CC camera footages recovered from the campus and also from the nearby junctions.
The police are in the process of identifying the persons involved in the violence that erupted on the campus on Wednesday. The DCP told media that the situation on OU campus was under control and they had initiated investigation to nab the accused who were responsible for the violent incidents and causing injuries to police personnel.
It may be recalled that about seven policemen suffered grave injuries when the students attacked a home guard, driving a police car boarded by four officers. Home guard Lingam suffered severe injuries to his head and some other officers also suffered fractures in the incident.
Ravinder said the home guard underwent a surgery and was currently in Intensive Care Unit and doctors advised for 24 hours observation of the patient.
