Nalgonda: The MLA, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, used Dr B R Ambedkar Jayanti to show his strength in the wake of recent political developments in the Nalgonda assembly constituency in which his confident and Nalgonda Municipal Chairperson Boddupalli Lakshmi and her husband shifted to the ruling TRS.

Cancelling his USA tour, the MLA reached Nalgonda on Thursday and paid tributes to Ambedkar at Marriguda bypass road in Nalgonda, along with scores of his supporters. Later, addressing the Congress cadre and his supporters, he said Ambedkar sacrificed his life for the progress of nation and to eradicate inequalities in the society.

He demanded both the Central and State governments to strive hard honestly for the welfare of downtrodden sections, so as to realise the dreams of the great national leader Ambedkar. Speaking on the recent political developments in the district, he said nothing will happen if some leaders desert him for their selfish needs. ‘Strong loyal supporters and public are my strength,’ he added.

During his speech, he listed out all the developmental activities he carried for the last 17 years. Explaining about his positive comments on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s PPT show, the assurance on SLBC tunnel and Brahmana Vellemla Project for the wellbeing of district made him to be grateful for the CM as a constructive opposition leader.

In the wake of rumors about him of shifting to the TRS, he cleverly said cadre decision was final regarding his political future for the welfare of public and development of Nalgonda district. Later, he led a mega rally from Marriguda bypass road to Ambedkar statue at DEO office in the town and garlanded the statue of Ambedkar.
