Hyderabad: Various student organisations and students in the English and Foreign Languages University on Tuesday formed a Joint Action Committee to take forward the protest for justice for PhD scholar Koonal Duggal who was evicted from the campus by the administration.

The JAC was formed by organisations such as Allied Students’ Action for Democracy-EFLU (ASAD-E), Dalit Adivasi Bahujan Minority Students’ Association (DABMSA), EFLU Students’ Union, Muslim Students’ Federation (MSF), Students’ Alliance for Justice and Democracy-EFLU (SAJD-E), Students’ Federation of India (SFI), and Students’ Islamic Organisation (SIO) and Telangana Students’ Association (TSA) at University General Body meeting convened by the EFLU Students’ Union.

The students alleged that students’ organisations which formed JAC stand derecognised by the administration on grounds that students were not allowed to organise on any political grounds.
