Hyderabad: Students of English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) on Wednesday protested at Ambedkar statue at Tank Bund for restricting PhD scholar Koonal Duggal from the campus during the 125th birth anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar recently.

The EFLU-Joint Action Committee strongly condemned the proctor’s decision to restrict Koonal from the EFLU campus without following due administrative procedure of informing the accused student.

The JAC alleged that administration, till date, did inform of why disciplinary action was taken against Koonal. The JAC further alleged that the university removed all portraits of anti-caste leaders, such as Ambedkar, Periyar, Jotiba Phule and Savitri Bai Phule from the library.

Meanwhile, students decided to conduct an art exhibition by Koonal on the university campus.
