Hyderabad: Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly K Jana Reddy on Thursday offered to resign as the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader as some of them have been expressing their unhappiness over his performance.

During the CLP meeting organised in the Assembly premises here on Thursday, Jana Reddy expressed anguish at the persistent news reports that he would be joining the ruling TRS similar to other top leaders who had already left the party and hence was having a soft corner towards the ruling party.

He found fault with the TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy and other leaders over their silence and not denying such reports. Jana said that he was ready to quit provided the MLAs explain why they were not happy with him.

Reacting to the recent defections of MLAs and an MLC, he asked public representatives from the Congress joining other political parties to first resign as MLA or MLC.
