Mahbubnagar: Foundation stone for the construction of 2,300 double bedroom houses was laid on Monday at Adarshnagar Colony in Kristianpally in Mahbubnagar. District Collector Dr T K Sridevi, along with Mahbubnagar MLA Srinivas Goud, laid the foundation stone for the prestigious scheme in the district.

Speaking on the occasion, the District Collector said the State government’s prestigious double bedroom house scheme was aimed at providing minimum living amenities for the poor who could live with self respect. “We are planning to make this scheme as an example to others with transparency and accountability.

Keeping in view the problems faced by the people living in unhygienic conditions, the State government has designed a comprehensive plan to construct double bedroom houses with all amenities like drainage facility, roads and water will be provided under this scheme,” said the collector.

Srinivas Goud said the State government was taking up various schemes and projects for the welfare of people in the district.

“I can say with pride that Mahbubnagar is the first district to give double bedroom houses in urban areas. The authorities must do their duties with responsibility and ensure every eligible candidate gets benefited under the scheme,” the MLA said.
