Hyderabad: Minister for Tribal Development, Tourism and Culture, Ajmeera Chandulal said that the government would establish a Shilparamam in every district headquarters, to protect tradition and art. Participating in a review meeting on Tuesday at his chambers in the Secretariat, the minister said the Shilparamams would first come up in Warangal and Medak districts.

“The construction of the Shilparamams will reflect the various cultures and traditions of the nation. We will encourage handloom and handicraft exhibitions reflecting the culture of the country. We will also facilitate the artisans to bring their products to Shilparamam, which will improve their livelihood,” said Chandulal.

He further added that an International Food Bazar would be set up at the Hyderabad Shilparamam on a permanent basis to introduce the people of Hyderabad to cuisines from various countries.

The minister said that the Hyderabad Shilparamam would be transformed into a forum for national and international celebrations and directed the officials to initiate steps for modernising the Shilparamam Night Bazar in order to attract the tourists.

Government advisor K Ramanachary, Tourism Department Secretary Burra Venkatesham Goud, Shilparamam Special Officer Kishan Rao and others participated in the review meeting.
