Hyderabad: The celebrations “Synergy-2016” on the successful completion of “Summer Samurai camp 2016” which was organised by Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) concluded on a joyful note at the enthralling function held at Ravindra Bharathi on Tuesday.

This was attended by G Jagadish Reddy, Minister for Social Welfare, as the Chief Guest, Azmeera Chandulal, Minister for Tribal Welfare, as the Guest of Honour, Benhur Mahesh Dutt Ekka, Principal Secretary, Social Welfare, Rathod Lakshman Commissioner Tribal Welfare. The function was presided over by Dr R S Praveen Kumar, Secretary, Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society and TWREIS.

The 15-day camp held at Social Welfare schools was attended by more than 15,000 students in the 21 camps across the State. This year’s camp included both tribal students and BC welfare students. At the concluding function, 40 super students (juniors) and 39 super students (seniors), who attended the camp, were awarded under S R Sankaran Fellowship award.

Under Teacher’s excellence awards 30, principals, teachers and non-teaching staff were also awarded. Speaking on the occasion Jagadish Reddy exhorted the students “not to fear anything” and make efforts to overcome any hurdle in achieving their goals. While lauding their confidence levels at the function, he asked them remain optimistic in their lives.

He said the Social Welfare and Tribal Welfare schools were functioning better than the corporate schools which focus only on attaining ranks. The spirit of sportsmanship should be inculcated, so that even if a student failed in achieving a goal, he must retry it. “Corporate institutes focus on certain education which is causing suicides.

While the government residential schools are teaching children to live with confidence. Which is the real wealth for Telangana,” he said. Overwhelmed by the training of the students, Minister Chandulal felt that the camp had trained the students in a way that their talents were more visible. He exhorted the students to remain steadfast and industrious in achieving their goals and getting a respectable position in the society.

Dr Praveen Kumar, the man behind the concept of “summer samurai” reminded the students of “10 commandments” and recounted the novel initiatives like ‘hum banenge crorepati’ taken up by the camp. Earlier, during the evening the students undertook cultural programmes in which “we are the swaeroes” engrossed the audience.
