Hyderabad: The Twin cities may experience another spell of pre-monsoon rains from May 18 or May 19 according to Skymet. Hyderabad which has remained dry for the last two days can expect rain in the next 24 to 48 hours.

  • To hit Andaman by May 18-20
  • Over Kerala by May 30
  • Will cover whole country by July 15
  • skymet.com predicts above normal rainfall

However, rains will be scattered and patchy. Skymet predicts that these showers will be on account of the wind discontinuity which has been prevailing over the region for the last several days. It is seen extending from Vidarbha region of Maharashtra to Tamil Nadu across Telangana and Rayalaseema.

Surrounding areas of Hyderabad have had pre-monsoon showers during the last 48 hours. This rain activity has kept a check on the maximum temperatures and they are still settling to below normal average.

Further in the month, rain and thundershowers will ebb from May 14. The wind discontinuity also known as trough is likely to shift westwards over Karnataka. With this, the rain belt will also shift from Hyderabad and weather will go dry.
