Hyderabad: Special prayers at all religious places, poor feeding, hoisting of national flag at all government offices and Telangana cultural events are among the important programmes that would be organised on a big scale on the Telangana formation day (June 2) in the state.

  • 30 lakh allocated to each district for celebrations

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao instructed the district authorities to make arrangements for special prayers at all temples, mosques and churches for the well being of people and seek the blessings of rain gods for bountiful rains in the ensuing monsoon.

Stating that Rs 30 lakh had been allocated to each district for the conduct of official celebrations, he said 50 prominent people recognised in different fields in each district would attend the formation day celebrations being attended by Governor ESL Narasimhan and himself at Parade grounds in the city.

Reviewing the progress in providing government jobs to the kin of the Telangana martyrs with District Collectors, KCR said all the rules and conditions would be ignored if qualified candidates were not available in the bereaved families during the appointments.

The selected candidates would have to meet all the required qualifications within five years of their joining service. He said that the appointments would be given to all candidates on the formation day in the districts.

The Chief Minister also instructed officials to make arrangements to pay tributes at Telangana martyrs memorials and create festive atmosphere at public places like bus and railway stations and airports.

Referring to Kalyana Laxmi scheme meant to provide Rs 51,000 financial assistance for every poor bride family, KCR warned the officials about the misuse of funds and instructed them to handover the cheques to the bride’s mother only.
