Hyderabad: The last date for the online admissions for the undergraduate courses is likely to be extended due to the delay in the opening of registration of colleges affiliated to Osmania University.

Speaking to The Hans India on Monday, University Registrar E Suresh Kumar said that a few of the private colleges did not agree to come on the online platform and filed a court case due to which the opening of registration for admissions to OU affiliated colleges got delayed.

“The college fees is the foremost concern for the private colleges,” he said. He said that they had a meeting with the university advisors a few days back and decided to allow these private colleges to collect extra fees of not more than Rs 10,000.

The Registrar said that they were also thinking of extending the last date for applying for the online admissions. As per the 'dost' schedule, the online registration was started on May 20 and was supposed to end on June 6.

The State government had introduced a student-friendly website 'dost’ (Degree Online Service, Telangana) for applying for online admissions.

All colleges affiliated to Palamuru University, Satavahana University, Telangana University, Mahatma Gandhi University and Kakatiya University accepted the new online method except for a few of the private colleges under Osmania University.
