A music teacher at Government Practicing High School at Lashkar Bazar in Hanamkonda, Vaddiraju Nivedita has won the Best Music Teacher Award.

​Warangal: A music teacher at Government Practicing High School at Lashkar Bazar in Hanamkonda, Vaddiraju Nivedita has won the ‘Best Music Teacher Award’. The award was accorded to her by the State government on the occasion of Telangana Formation Day celebrations in recognition of her contribution towards spreading knowledge of classical music among young generations for the past 24 years.

Besides being a music teacher, she has also been teaching social sciences and Hindi at the school. Nivedita has learnt classical music from a Hindustani musician Hanumantha Rao and later mastered Carnatic music by being a disciple of a noted Carnatic musician, Kari Kurmanath for ten years. She has won accolades for her musical acumen since her young age.

She has trained hundreds of students in classical music and since 1992 to 2015 have enabled students of her school to win scores of prizes at state and national cultural events by performing musical ballets on various social issues. Government Practicing High School students trained by Nivedita have won ‘National Winner’ prize for their presentation on ‘Adolescent Girls-Lifestyle-Education System’ at All India Folk Dance Festival held in Mysore in Karnataka in 2015.

A ‘Musical Fusion’ on Kakatiya Heritage performed by troupe of 50 students of the school at Kakatiya Festivals conducted in the years 2012 and 2013 in Warangal has won recognition from various quarters of the society.
