Hyderabad: Underscoring the need for providing employment opportunities to rural youth by providing them required training, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Jupally Krishna Rao said gram panchayats should achieve self-sufficiency and recognise the needs of the people in the grama sabhas and transparently solve their problems.

Speaking at a workshop here on Saturday on ‘Strengthening Panchayat System and Rural Development for Achieving Self-Sufficiency of Villages through Transparent Implementation of Plans-based on Needs’, Jupallly Krishna Rao directed the officials to conduct grama sabhas to ascertain the problems and find solutions on the spot and implement a plan of action.

“Sarpanches and officials should work in tandem to implement them with perfect plans. He also said the fruits of welfare schemes should reach the target groups to achieve inclusive growth.“The village panchayats should chalk out plans at grama sabhas and make use of funds released by the 14th Finance Commission for people’s welfare,” he said.

Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department Special Principal Secretary S P Singh and Commissioner Anitha Ramachandran were also present.
