Adilabad: Security has been beefed up in several towns of Adilabad district as Ramadan will begin on Tuesday. Speaking to the media here on Monday the Superintendent of Police, Vikram Jeet Duggal, said that they have drawn up a plan to maintain peace in sensitive towns like Bhainsa and Nirmal besides the district the headquarters Adilabad during the month of Ramadan.

He said that the police has deployed Armed Reserve police battalions in sensitive areas of the district to keep the law and order situation under control. All the sub-divisional officers have been kept on high alert round the clock to oversee security arrangements in their respective areas he added.

Stating that district intelligence wing has been working efficiently Duggal said that police would keep a tab on trouble mongers besides conducting peace committee meetings in vulnerable places.

The Superintendent of Police urged the people not to believe in rumours as there was every possibility of miscreants spreading them intentionally to disrupt the peace and harmony. While greeting the Muslims on the occasion of Ramadan festival the SP urged the people to cooperate with the police.
