Hyderabad: The two judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising Justice C V Nagarjuna Reddy and Justice Jaiswal on Friday granted two weeks time to the twin governments of Telangana and AP to respond in a contempt case complaining that the authorities had failed to work on the seniority list of employees prior to allotment to the sibling states.

The bench is dealing with a contempt case filed by P Parameshwar Reddy, who impleaded the the Chief Secretaries, DGP of the two States, and other officials.

Earlier he had filed a writ petition, questioning the allotment made by the government and an order of the Administrative Tribunal as non est in law and consequentially illegal. P V Krishniah, advocate for the petitioner, complained that the High Court made an order on March 31 and action was not taken.

He complained that in the meanwhile the Secretary of the State Reorgainisation Committee invited options from those in the rank of DSP. The petitioner contended that it was contrary to the letter and spirit of the court’s direction.
