Khammam: Rebutting BJP national president Amit Shah’s criticism against AICC president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi, Congress Deputy Floor Leader in the Council Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy said that it was politically motivated and has no truth in it.

In a statement on Saturday, Reddy condemned the BJP chief’s tirade against the Gandhi family which he made in Vikas Parv meeting at Suryapet in Nalgonda district on Friday.

“Except for making false promises to hoodwink the people, the government didn’t achieve anything concrete in its two years rule,” he said, accusing the BJP government of being non-sensitive towards people’s issues.

He said that Modi mark democracy is based on vindictive politics. The BJP leaders are masters of event management and reaping the harvest of the UPA’s good governance, he said.

Pointing to the spiralling of prices of essential commodities in the country, Reddy criticised the BJP for its failure to fulfill its poll promises.

Referring to Amit Shah’s claims that the Centre had released Rs 90,000 crore as assistance to Telangana State, he demanded a white paper on it.

Reddy demanded the NDA government to fulfill the assurances provided in the AP Reorganisation Act to Telangana State such as Bayyaram Steel factory, tribal university and division of High Court. He also demanded the redesigning of Polavaram Multi-purpose Irrigation Project to minimize the displacement of Adivasis.

Stating that Amit Shah’s magic would not work in Telangana, Reddy asked the BJP chief to reach out people by releasing funds to rescue the drought-affected farmers besides providing assistance to backward areas in the State.
