Hyderabad: For the first time ever, Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy will be participating as a chief guest in a film-related event.

The spiritual guru is set to release the audio album of Telugu devotional film “Chilkur Balaji” on June 14 at an auditorium at his sprawling 72-acre ashram near Shamshabad.

The Vedic pontiff has been impressed with the trailer of the film which revolves around the “sanctity” of Lord Venkateswara temple in Chilkur, near Hyderabad.

The temple is also called as “Telangana Tirumala by devotees. “Swamiji gave his nod since he wanted to spread devotion among the people and wanted more people to know about the sacredness of Chilkur Balaji across the world,” said a source close to the unit.

“Chilkur Balaji is also hailed as Visa God since many, who aspire to go to the US offer prayers and perform 11 circumambulations of the inner shrine and once their wish is fulfilled they walk 108 times around the sanctum sanctorum,” he added.

Already, the period drama that revolves a real-life character Madhava Reddy (enacted by actor Sai Kumar) who surpassed many a hurdle to build the sacred temple, has caught the attention of distributors of AP, TS and renowned musician Ghajal Srinivas who is a member of US-based Save Temple Organistion.

It is true that we are in talks with Save Temple Organisation and they are planning to release our devotional film in US, UK and Canada to spread the popularity of Telangana Tirumala all over the world and draw more devotees to a temple which discourages hundi offerings and run by a non-profit trust board” adds the source.

Even TRS Endowments Ministry is keen to promote the devotional film in a big way.
When contacted, producer-director Allani Sridhar, who made the film, likened his effort to a devotee offering a flower to Lord Balaji.

Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy releasing the audio is a divine opportunity and our unit is truly blessed. We are thankful temple chief priest Govinda Rajan for his support and guidance to make a real-life story around an atheist-turned-devotee Madhava Reddy.

Discussions with distributors of TS, AP and overseas are on and we will fix the deals soon,” he said.
