The English medium will be introduced in some schools in the next academic year. With the introduction of English medium, it is aimed to increase the enrollment by 25 percent. About 1,565 teachers are specially trained to teach in English, said the district education officer (DEO), P Rajiv.

The system will be implemented in select schools in remote and agency villages, where absenteeism of both teachers and students found to be high.

The installation of the bio-metric equipment is on and will soon be completed, Rajiv said. ‘This measure will surely help to increase the attendance and punctuality,’ he hoped urging the teachers to act responsibly.
