Demands justice to Mallannasagar oustees

Hyderabad: Telangana TDP working president A Revanth Reddy on Monday said that he would go on a 48-hour hunger strike demanding justice to the displaced persons of the proposed Mallannasagar project coming up in Medak district.

Participating in a programme, he alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar was giving least importance to the plight of the affected persons from whom the government acquired fertile lands to execute the project.

He questioned the Chief Minister for failing to implement the R&R (Rehabilitation and Resettlement) package, announced by the government recently, which does not render justice to the affected persons.

Revanth said that his party would ensure justice to the villagers who would be displaced by the project. “We will ensure that Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao does justice to the victims of Mallannasagar.” The TDP leader further demanded the government that they pay adequate compensation to farmers affected by the project.

Referring to the spate of defections to the ruling TRS, he said there should be a social boycott of Congress leaders Gutha Sukhender Reddy, N Bhaskar Rao and CPI leader Ravindra Kumar Naik, who recently joined the ruling party.

In another development, TDP appointed party’s district in-charges in Telangana. Senior leader E Peddi Reddy has been appointed Hyderabad district party in-charge while Arvind Kumar Goud has been made district in-charge of Ranga Reddy district.

Incharges of other districts include Revuri Prakash Reddy-Nalgonda, Garikapati Mohan Rao-Mahbubnagar, Sandra Venkata Veeraiah-Warangal, K Dayakar Reddy-Medak, Seethakka (Danasari Anasuya )-Khammam, B Mallaiah Yadav-Nizamabad, Eaga Mallesham-Mancherial, T Veerander Goud-Adilabad and V Pratap Reddy as Karimnagar district incharge.
