Hyderabad: Expressing solidarity with agitating lawyers, Telangana Engineers JAC on Wednesday held demonstration at GHMC’s head office. They demanded immediate withdrawal of suspension orders on the judges.

Speaking on the occasion, T-Engineers JAC chairman, T Venkatesham said that even after attaining Telangana, the lawyers, judges and employees working in the courts were facing injustice. While referring to the statements of Union Law Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, he held that the Central government was washing off its hands in this case, by undermining the agreed set of norms. He demanded the Centre to resolve the issue at the earliest, as the very purpose of bifurcation is at stake.

Co-chairman of Engineers JAC, Sridhar Deshpande said that lawyers from Telangana faced raw deal even after the bifurcation, as only 126 junior civil judges from Telangana are posted in the State out of a total of 433 posts. “There are 1,487 employees working for High Court, only 389 represent the Telangana.

Moreover, the inordinate delay in bifurcation of the High Court is having an impact on the decision making process at the highest levels in the judiciary of the Telugu States,” added Deshpande.
