The government has sanctioned Rs 5 lakh for the construction of Goddess Parvathi Devi temple on the river banks and the works commenced in the morning.

Nalgonda: Ancient idols of gods were found during the excavations for constructing Goddess Parvathi Devi temple on the banks of Krishna River at Irkigudem of Dameracherla mandal on Saturday.

The government has sanctioned Rs 5 lakh for the construction of Goddess Parvathi Devi temple on the river banks and the works commenced in the morning.

When the proclainer was digging the land, the ancient idols of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvathi and Lord Veerabhadra Swamy were unearthed.

The idols were about three feet length and locals observed the idols are 200-year-old. They were happy feeling that it is good omen to unearth gods’ idols during temple construction works.
