Very heavy rain in Adilabad district during the last four days resulted in good inflows into all irrigation projects---which are full to the brim---and inundation of several low-lying areas where residents have been stranded.

Life in Tilai, Thikkapalli and Somali villages in Bejjur mandal has been paralysed consequent to heavy floods in the Pranahita river. They are facing severe hardship.
Several water bodies are overflowing. With heavy inflows, Bimba, Kukuda, Kushaipalli and Chennapur streams resulted in snapping of links between 30 villages and the nearby areas.
Following the breach of a temporary bridge between Mancheriyal and Nirmal, transport services have been disrupted. The bypass road in Bhainsa was totally inundated severely affecting the road traffic.
With the Sonalawagu in Boath overflowing links with the surrounding villages have been snapped.
As the Palavagu continued to receive flood water, residents of Kotapalli and Vemanapalli mandals faced severe hardship with the breakdown of transport facilities.
The temporary bridge in Kankapur village of Mamada mandal was washed away resulting in snapping of transport facilities between Mancheriyal, Khanapur and Nirmal causing hardship to residents.
The crust gates of several projects were lifted to release the flood water. The Kadem project attained a level of 690 feet(FRL 700 ft). Five of its gates were lifted to release 48,000 cusecs.
Its inflows on Monday touched 86,000 cusecs. After the Swarna project attained a level of 1179 ft (FRL 1183 ft), Minister A Indrakaran Reddy lifted one gate to release water. In the case of Gaddenna project three gates were lifted.
As the Komarambheem project received heavy inflows, its level touched 239.5 ft (FRL 243). Five of its gates were lifted to release water. While the inflow was 24,000 cusecs, the outflow was 25,000 cusecs.
With the level in Mathadiwagu project steadily rising, three gates were lifted. Heavy flood water is reaching Satnala, PPRao and Nilwai projects.

Consequent to the heavy rain, production in the open cast mines of Srirampur, Ramakrishnapur, Dorli 1 and 1 besides Khariguda mine was stopped, resulting in loss of two lakh tonnes, said officials of the Singareni Collieries.
Cotton and soya crops in Chennur and Vemanapalli mandals covered by rivers Pranahita and Penganga were submerged, causing severe anxiety among the farmers.
Thirty-one houses in Bhimli, Jainath, Bejjur, Kagaznagar, Gudihatnur and Kuntala mandals were damaged.
With officials announcing rain occurring for two more days, people are spending anxious moments. Steps have been initiated to move residents of the low-lying areas to safer places.
