Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma on Tuesday directed the District Collectors to prepare plans and move ahead to plant 30-crore saplings by July end. Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna reviewed the Haritha Haram programme here at Secretariat.

The Chief Secretary said that the government had fixed a target of 46 crore saplings for the State and every district should meet the target. He said that plans should be prepared to plant 2 crore saplings every day and the details of planted trees should be sent in the form of a report to Secretariat before 5 pm every day.

The Chief Secretary directed officials to plant more trees in municipalities on the occasion of Municipal Day on July 18. He also directed officials to increase plantations in forest areas marking the Forest Day.
