The trough from Madhya Pradesh to South Tamil Nadu across Telangana and Rayalaseema is persisting. As a result, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at many places across the State from July 13 to 17. No other major change in forecast is expected during the next three days.

During the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Tuesday, rain occurred at many places in the State, with Adilabad and Boath recording 11 cm of rain each. The chief amounts of rainfall in the State (in cm) was Nirmal 10 cm; Utnur, Navipet and Ranjal 9 cm each; Mudhole and Metpalle 8 cm each; Sarangapur, Ibrahimpatnam, Khanapur and Sriramsagar 7 cm each; Luxettipet, Dharmapuri, Varni, Nizamabad and Kotagiri 6 cm each; Jagtial, Nandipet, Bodhan, Rudrur, Mortad, Mallial and Asifabad 5 cm each; and Banswada, Jakranpalle, Pegadapalle, Birkoor, Perur and Armoor 4 cm each.

There was 3 cm of rain each in Balkonda, Kammarpalle, Velpur, Bheemgal, Dharpalle, Sadasivanagar, Mancherial, Jukkal, Makloor, Chennur, Gandhari, Julapalle, Gangadhara, Yedapalle, Lingampet, Sultanabad, Dichpalle, Sirpur and Gambhiraopet; and 2 cm of rain each in Machareddy, Madnur, Yellareddy, Kamareddy, Venkatapuram, Parkal, Sircilla, Mustabad, Domakonda and Kamareddy.
