Massive arrangements for Mahankali Bonalu
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has decided to make elaborate arrangements for Bonalu at Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu on July 24 & 25 and July 31 and August 1 at Lal Darwaza at a cost of Rs 7 crore.
​Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has decided to make elaborate arrangements for Bonalu at Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu on July 24 & 25 and July 31 and August 1 at Lal Darwaza at a cost of Rs 7 crore.
Commissioner of GHMC B Janardhan Reddy reviewed the arrangements and enquired about the progress of works with zonal commissioners and police commissioner Mahender Reddy on Tuesday.
He said 500 additional sanitation workers have been deputed at various areas in view of Bonalu festival and six mobile toilets were being set up for public convenience. He said that there would be a ban on using plastic bags from August 1.
The city police commissioner said adequate security arrangements have been put in place to conduct Bonalu festival peacefully by deploying 3,000 police personnel. The police department was working in coordination with other departments.
He said 100 CC cameras have been set up on all Bonalu procession routes. There would be SHE teams and anti-snatching chain squads, he said and appealed to people not to believe rumours being spread through social media and contact police officials concerned for clarifications.
