Nalgonda: State SC Corporation Chairman Pidamarthi Ravi directed the officials to pay focus on land purchasing scheme of SCs and STs to make the programme a grand success.

On Thursday he conducted a review meeting with district officials on the government scheme of disdistributing three acres of land to eligible SCs and STs, at Nalgonda Collectorate.

Addressing the officials, he informed that under the scheme, 514.15 acres of agricultural land has been purchased by paying Rs 1,647.41 lakh till March 31 and was sanctioned to 215 families in the district.

Out of the total land acquired, about 480 acres of land was purchased from private persons.

Land registration was doen to 157 families and that of the remaining families would be completed within 15 days.

During 2016-17 financial year, 10,804 acres of agricultural land was sanctioned to 60 families in the district by spending Rs 617.95 lakhs till date.

The registration to 48 out of 60 beneficiary families will be completed within 15 days, he added.

The corporation has provided coaching and training in different fields to 442 men and women.

Besides, by spending Rs 15 lakhs, 15 units were allotted to 30 widows, who have small kids and HIV children and also PHC persons.
Additional Joint Collector Venkat Rao, DRO Ravi Nayak, DRDA PD Anjaiah, Nalgonda RDO Venkatachary and other officials participated in the meeting.
