Hyderabad: Justice M S Ramachandra Rao of the High Court at Hyderabad on Thursday directed the State Council of Higher Education and Convenor of Pharma admissions to include CARE College of Pharmacology for the ongoing counselling process for the degree course being offered by the University.

The controversy related to the failure on the part of the authorities to grant affiliation to the CARE College. S Sriram, counsel for the petitioner, argued that the task was nearly ministerial as declared by the courts and therefore the college was entitled to be listed for counselling based upon the permission by Pharmacy Council of India.

He said the college had obtained valid affiliation from the Kakatiya University. The judge in his interim order made it clear that the candidates would be informed that the interim order and anay admissions would be subject to further orders in the writ petition.

Contempt notice to NCTE regional head Justice M S Ramachandra Rao of the High Court on Thursday at Hyderabad issued suo motto contempt notice to the Regional Head of the National Council for Teacher Education.

The judge made the order in a writ plea filed by the management of Kavita Memorial Education Trust in Nalgonda, which runs a BEd college.

The law prescribed that the college must have its own premises within three years of its inception. The college had sought leave of the authorities to transfer its management to a body that had such premises and permit it to make admissions in accordance with law.

Though the High Court had issued directions to the authorities to inspect the institution at its new premises, the authorities refused to carry out the directions on the ground that they would do so only after examining the various documents in this regard.

The judge dismissed an application seeking recall of the said order and issued suo motto contempt notice to the authorities.
