A division bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice U Durga Prasad on Wednesday made it clear that of the 49 employees of the Dairy Development Federation Corporation, the Telangana State government would bear the wages of 39 and the AP government the rest.

The bench was dealing with two petitions, one filed by AP Dairy Development Corporation questioning the unilateral seizure of its funds by the Telangana State government and the other by employees of the Federation questioning their transfer by the Telangana State government to AP without bifurcation of the corporation.

The bench made it clear that there was no way that the government would continue to keep in employment a citizen and not pay him wages. The controversy is a by-product of the Reorganisation Act. The employees complained that though the petitioners were allotted to AP, they continued to work in Hyderabad and were not being paid their regular wages.
