GHMC Special drive to check illegal hoardings

​Hyderabad: Taking into cognizance The Hans India report, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy on Friday decided to hold a special drive on unaccounted hoardings and unipoles from August 16 to 31.
He held a review meeting with officials concerned and decided to form a circle-level committee comprising of a deputy commissioner, maintenance engineer and an assistant city planner among others to carry out inspections.
The GHMC chief said that 2,684 hoardings/ unipoles, 1,151 bus shelters, six foot-over-bridges have been permitted earlier for publicity. He said that the committee members would inspect all hoardings in their respective circles and send a daily report to GHMC headquarters.
He said that the committee would also inspect parameters of the hoardings and examine whether they were erected as per the specifications announced by the civic body, check the place of the hoarding and verify whether there were any irregularities involved in it.
The GHMC chief clarified that corporation had not accorded any permission to erect hoardings after 2011.
