Hyderabad: Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in all the Telangana districts on September 16, the Met department bulletin warned on Thursday, as the Southwest monsoon was vigorous in Telangana during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am.
The forecast said the low pressure area over Telangana and its neighbourhood with associated upper air cyclonic circulation, extending up to mid-tropospheric levels tilting southwards with height is persisting. Another upper air cyclonic circulation lies over the west-central Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh coast. It extends up to 0.9 km above the mean sea level.
Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in Telangana from September 16 to 19. No other major change during the subsequent three days is the weather forecast. During the last 24 hours, heavy rain lashed Ranga Reddy district. There was 14, 9 and 8 cm of rainfall in Chevella, Vikarabad and Saroornagar, respectively.
The chief amounts of rainfall elsewhere in the State were: Banswada (Nizamabad) 8 cm, Nawabpet (Ranga Reddy) 7 cm, Thollada (Khammam), Bhuvanagiri (Nalgonda) and Pitlam and Sriramsagar (both in Nizamabad) 6 cm each.
