TRS DISTRICT HEADS APPOINTMENT
Hyderabad: Appointment of District TRS unit presidents has become a big headache for the TRS supremo owing to utter lack of coordination between the ministers and MLAs. Consequently, the scene is now shifted to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s camp office. KCR, who successfully filled various nominated posts, finds the going very tough to appoint district unit of the party presidents.
The TRS president had ruled that the ministers and MLAs should discuss among themselves on who should be appointed district unit president and asked them to come and see him at the camp office. Lack of coordination among the elected people’s representatives in zeroing in on a particular candidate is posing problems to the party boss.
In Khammam district, the difference of opinion between Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao and MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy snowballed further. While Tummala is adamant on re-appointing Baig as the district unit president, Ponguleti and Khammam MLA Puvvada Ajay demand that the post should go to a new face.
In Kothagudem, a similar dispute seems to have arisen. There is a tussle between Jalagam Venkat Rao’s group and Tummala’s group. While Venkata Rao is supporting Pandurangachary, Tummala is keen on making Tadiri Venkateswarlu the district unit of the party president.
There is no agreement between Minister Jagadishwar Reddy and other local leaders in appointing Nalgonda district unit of the TRS. Here Lingayya Yadav is in the race for the post. The local leaders threw their weight behind a new person. However, the Chief Minister said that Jagadishwar Reddy’s choice would be final.
In Mancherial district, there is difference of opinion between MLA Odelu and MLC Puranam Satish as each group wants their candidates to become the chairman. In Warangal district, the local leaders are severely opposing the choice of Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari for the post. There emerged a dispute over the choice of the candidate.
In Adilabad district, it seems a war is going on between Minister Jogu Ramanna and local leaders over the choice. The local leaders’ choice for the post is Goverdhan Reddy, which the minister is rejecting outright. In Kamareddy district, a common choice for the post between Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy and local legislator was elusive.
In Hyderabad district also the situation is more or less the same. Therefore, the scene is now shifted to the Chief Minister’s camp office. A steering committee has been appointed to resolve the differences. The Chief Minister gave an ultimatum to ministers and MLAs that however high position they might be holding they should work as per the party directions.
He warned of initiating stern action if anyone acts independently setting aside the party directions. He insisted that the whole exercise should be over by November 4, which the CM considered very auspicious to announce the names of party district unit presidents.
