Judge visits child welfare homes
District Principal Judge Radha Rani on Saturday inspected Observation Home, Shishu Vihar, Bala Sadan and Ujwala Rehabilitation Home, which were run by ICDS department.
Nalgonda: District Principal Judge Radha Rani on Saturday inspected Observation Home, Shishu Vihar, Bala Sadan and Ujwala Rehabilitation Home, which were run by ICDS department.
She also visited the Observation Home near Collectorate in which minors who committed offences were housed and interacted with the inmates. Speaking on the occasion she said that there was a need to bring changes in minor offenders and to see that they do not commit crimes again. There was need for regular counseling of the minor offenders to change their psychology and mind set, she added.
The District Principal Judge also inspected Bala Sadan on Bus stand road and inquired about the facilities being provided to the children in it. She also spent some time with the babies, abandoned and subsequently brought to Bala Sadan.
Later at Ujwala Rehabilitation Home at Prakasham Bazar she talked with the girls who were taking shelter at the home. She asked the officials of ICDS to take measures and provide vocational training to them to enable the girls stand on their own legs. District Child Protection Officer and others were also present.
